Resurection

It occurs to me that it has been a while since I was last here. It occurs to me also that I only posted two blogs before vanishing into thin air.  It seems that now would be a good and appropriate time for me to resurrect my blog as various things in my life happen and change and evolve and move forward, backwards and sideways.  In regards to "sideways" whenever I think, type, or hear that word now I think about the movie.  A good movie no doubt, made excellent by Paul Giamatti which in turn makes me think of "Shoot 'em Up."  If you haven't seen this movie, you really should.  Packed with virtually non-stop action, clever yet corny one-liners as well as Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti blasting at each other with a massive variety of firearms.
Just this makes you want to watch it ...
So here I am. Again.  Over the next few weeks we'll be following me as I make my journeys through the workplace, up the central valley of California, around the High Desert and all the other wonderful things that I do with my fantastically average life. Keep your eye out for pictures though; I've become a bit of an iPhone photographer taking pictures of just about everything.

What in the world?!?!

It has come to my basic attention that the world has falling into a bit of a sink hole.  The economy is in a rut, and I don't care that the recession is "over", the GOP is pointing fingers at the Donkeys, the Donkeys are pointing fingers at the Elephants...realistically they are pointing at each other's poo...China owns the majority of the US debt, not to mention they're trying to implement their child reduction policy all over the work with their lead-based kiddie toys and salmonella eggs.  I personally find the California issues hilarious.  Here was the 4th largest economy in the WORLD and we have a bigger debt than the entire country of France now.  But, you know what they say about the French...

I viewed a small snippet of the gubernatorial debate last night, about 15 minutes, and found that the debate was nothing more than finger-pointing and dick measuring.  "Let me tell you about my pension plan..." "well what Jerry Brown didn't tell you about his pension plan is that....MY pension plan will..."  I did have some favorite parts.  The commentator brought up one of Mr. Brown's staffers usage of the word whore, and comparing it to the n-word.  Mr. Brown apparently belies that such a comparison isn't justified as the word whore is not as offensive.  Bwahahaha, good luck with the women's vote Mr. Brown...
Mr. Brown questioned Mrs. Whitman regarding one of her staffer's usage of the word whore when referring to Congress. Mrs. Whitman said that it was "a completely different thing."  Bwahahaha, good luck with the logical people vote Mr.s Whitman.

Through all these personal attacks I could only think one thing, is our political system really so screwed up and people so tapped in to their schadenfreude that we just can't have an honest debate/election anymore.

And now for something completely different...

The battery sitting on my desk just burst. Interesting.

On a related note, happy birthday Dylan!!

So here I am...

So here I am.  How much more average can you get?  I'm sitting in a coffee shop with my laptop blogging.  I have finally joined the ranks of the young and thoughtful and...trendy.  Who doesn't have a blog these days really? I'm pretty sure that if my grandmother wasn't playing bridge so much she might have one.

I now feel that I must post a small disclaimer...

Various entries may have some small errors in them.  Sorry, no one is perfect.
Profanity may be used. This will typically be moderated to when it logically applies. Be prepared for any and all forms of the various colorful metaphors that exist.
Don't be dumb.

And that's about it.  Again, pretty average and standard for a blog right?

That being said, let's talk about the day.
I'm not sure there has ever been such a wonderful day in Apple Valley.  It is indeed sad that I was stuck inside at work all day, but I had some short gasps of "fresh" air.  Work itself was fairly standard.  Mildly busy but nothing over the top.  I had the honor of getting to do a data backup (ask me later).  Once done with work i slowly made my way to The Grind (same location as now coincidentally.)  I then traveled home to change from my work clothes into something a bit more relaxing.  I have recently decided to change up my wardrobe a bit.  Gone are the days of old cross country shirts and shorts or jeans.  I am sitting here, my hair done, the beginnings of a nicely trimmed beard on my face, a nice gray button down Banana Republic shirt, a perfectly fitting pair of Lucky Brand Jeans, and my black oxfords. Now, this is style right here.  I feel the eyes of people as I walk through The Grind wondering to themselves:

Who is this man?
Where did he come from?
Does he have a cabin in the mountains where he spends his winters?
Is he available?
I wonder if he would lend me some change?

I answer to all of you: I am John, the average man.  I hail from Apple Valley, CA, the place of my birth and the ground to which I have returned after 5 years of schooling.  I have no luxurious cabin in the mountains. I am very much unavailable.  If I had some change to lend you I would...maybe...just don't be annoying or smelly.

Good night.
